In pipeline applications, a tapping head (or adapter) is a crucial component used in 'hot tapping' or 'line stopping'. It securely connects the tapping machine and cutter to the pipeline valve, allowing a new branch connection to be made or a section to be isolated for maintenance on a pressurized, active system without any service disruption.

A folding head allows for line stopping operations on large-diameter pipes through a much smaller valve and fitting. For example, our FH3024 stops a 30" line through a 24" valve.
