Folding heads provide a significant cost-saving advantage. They are designed to be inserted through a smaller branch fitting and valve than the actual pipe diameter being stopped. The ideal cutter depends on the pipeline material. HSS (High-Speed Steel) tipped cutters are best for steel lines. Carbide Tipped cutters are the most popular all-purpose option for most common pipeline materials.
