Hot tapping is the process of cutting into a pressurized, in-service pipeline without shutting down flow. The tapping machine mounts onto a fitting on the pipe and a cutter bores through under pressure, allowing a branch connection to be made safely.

Hydraulic power requirements vary by model. The TM250 requires 8 GPM at 2,200 psi, the TM300 requires 16 GPM at 2,000 psi, the TM400 requires 20 GPM at 2,000 psi, and the TM6120 requires 21 GPM at 1,500 psi. Always match your hydraulic power unit output to the specific machine model being used on site.
